How I Make This Site

Me Designing This Site

I am not a web developer, I don't even remember what little HTML I've tried to learn in the past, yet I've still made this website you're on right now. How did I do that?

First, as you can see this site is hosted on Neocities, which makes the process of hosting and managing the site super easy. I have hosted my own Linux web servers in the past and they were a total pain. Definitely not my skill set.

The actual creation of pages goes a little like this:

• Produce page in markdown
• Convert markdown to HTML using one of the many programs that exists to do this
• Add anything that can't be done in markdown to the generated HTML file
• Upload to Neocities

It's that simple!

This method is crude but incredibly simple and effective.

Why Markdown?

• I already know it
• It's simple
• It's easy to write
• It's extremely human readable

I hope this satisfies anyone who is curious, I also hope that it serves to show you how easy it is to make a website (for free no less!), so get out there and make your own site.
